George Stalk is a senior vice-president and director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He has worked with BCG for nearly 30 years, initially based in Boston, then Tokyo, where he worked for 10 years, Chicago and currently Toronto.
His focus is the creation of unassailable competitive advantage and his current work includes the integration of emerging Chinese threats and opportunities into clients' competitive strategies.
Mr Stalk has consulted to many leading manufacturing, technology and consumer products companies throughout North and South America, Europe and Asia. He has lectured and written widely on strategy topics. Best-selling books include Competing Against Time and Kaisha: The Japanese Corporation. His most recent book is Hardball - Are you Playing to Play or Playing to Win?, co-authored with Rob Lachenauer.
