Now Managing Director of Walls A/S, Lars Thomassen started his career in advertising 30 years ago when he joined Bates in Copenhagen. He has been involved in communications ever since, serving as Chairman of the Danish Marketing Association from 1992 to 1996.

In 1979 he co-founded Henriksen & Sieling, which became BBDO Denmark in 1982. In 1998 Lars was appointed Vice President of BBDO Europe and Director of the Nordic, Central and Eastern regions. Together with his work as a board director of BBDO Worldwide, Lars has been involved in the development of numerous major global brands including Mars, Pepsi and Gillette.

Mr Thomassen recently co-authored Retailization – Brand Survival in the Age of Retailer Power (Kogan Page 2006), a study of retail branding based on a major global survey by ACNielsen. His co-authors are Keith Lincoln of FACES International, and Anthony Aconis of Fireball.
